My name is Madita Recktenwald and I am a freelance communication designer specialising in illustration and animation.
After graduating from the university of applied sciences, I expanded my education at the "Animation Workshop" in Denmark. I learned from staff of famous companies, such as Pixar, Nickelodeon about 3d-visualisation and design in general. Afterwards I worked as an illustrator at a gaming studio, before I started as a freelancer in 2015.
Since then, I worked on a variety of projects with different clients, from freelancers to larger companies.
I develop logos and corporate design, business papers or advertising campagnes. However, it showed, that I am often asked to work on more "exotic" projects, such as 2d-Animation, the illustration of comics, illustration of books, explainatory videos or the development and drawing of mascots. Maybe this is the result of my love for details and the fact, that my work often seems a little individual and vivid.
It is my responsibility to design and visualise my clients communication, so addressees will quickly capture their messages. That means clear and distinct design, that is easy to recognize. It is also important to create a design that is universally applicable. I mostly work in:
Are you planning a more expansive project? No problem! I will get backing by some of my freelance-partners. I already realised quite a few projects with their help. I even can reach out to them to take over tasks I cannot execute myself, such as web development or programming for example.
I use established and professional software such as the Adobe Creative Suite or 3d-software like Autodesk Maya or Lightwave 3d.
Alongside hand-drawn illustrations with pencil, ink or coloured pencils, I also illustrate by using Adobe Photoshop and a graphic tablet.
When it comes to animation I either draw and animate frame by frame or use vector graphics. It depends on project, situation or my clients wishes.
